What Is hypnosis?

You may not know but being in a state of hypnosis is actually a natural occurence of normal life. Have you ever been so into a book you've lost track of time, or driven on autopilot not remembering every detail of your journey?

Being in hypnosis isn't about being asleep, it is a relaxed state of focus.

Being in hynosis isn't about losing control, your subconscious mind won't take on any suggestions it doesn't agree with, plus you can open your eyes at any time.

This is the relaxed state of focus your mind goes into all by itself. Or even the way you feel just as you are about to fall asleep, hypnosis is just like this.

Hypnotherapy uses this natural state of mind to try to treat conditions or change habits.

What happens in a hypnotherapy session?

  • Your initial telephone consultation is free and we have a relaxed chat so that you can find out more about what hypnotherapy is, and isn't. We will discuss what you hope to achieve. You can book in here.

  • We will book you in for your first hypnotherapy treatment session in one of my clinic spaces, or online in the comfort of your own home. Sessions are 60 minutes.

  1. You will be lead into a deeply relaxed state

  2. We will use a variety of hypnotherapy techniques and methods to help you towards your goals – for example, suggesting that you don't want to carry out a certain habit or to re-frame your thinking to help alleviate fears.

  3. You will be gradually brought out of the hypnosis.

  4. Everyone is different and your treatment can be around 1-3 sessions, sometimes more based on the complexity of issues requiring resolution.

You're fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on any suggestions if you don't want to.

If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state.

Hypnosis doesn't work if you don't want to be hypnotised.
